Afhulta Gård
history

Afhulta farm dating from the 14th century

From a parchment letter dated 21 December 1368, it appears that an Arvid Ketilsson bequeathed a small part of Afhulta to Västerås Cathedral. The oldest parts of current Afhulta were built in knotwood at the end of the 17th century. The name "Afhulta" is similar to the Swedish "borta" which means "away" and fits well as the farm is at the end of the road towards Mälaren's shore.
